If the advertised role is based in London on an Agenda for Change Pay Band, it will attract a High Cost Area supplement. This supplement is not applicable to Executive or Senior Manager or Medical Leader positions. For positions offered on a part time basis, salary and any allowances will be adjusted pro rata.

Would you like to work with a dynamic team helping influence sustainable change within the NHS? Our small team is are looking for an enthusiastic and energetic individual with extensive experience in finance, information governance, and HR to lead our business function. 

Horizons is a small specialist team within the Strategy and Innovation Directorate of NHS England. Horizons supports leaders of change, teams, organisations and systems to think differently about large-scale change, improve collaboration, and accelerate change. We work with the health and care system, the wider public sector and publicly-funded healthcare systems globally.

Over the past twelve months, the Horizons team has supported change at every level of the NHS system, from helping NHS trusts in special measures to transform culture, to supporting Sustainability and Transformation Partnerships (STPs) and Accountable Care Organisations (ACOs) to build shared purpose and strategise for action, to supporting a 30 year forward look at primary care for NHS England, to helping the NHS Leadership Academy to identify future leadership development directions, to aiding the Personalised Care team to establish Demonstrator sites, to facilitating a thriving virtual community for STP Finance Leads on behalf of NHS England and NHS Improvement.

Our team is growing in scope. Pivotal to our continued success is a Senior Business Manager with extensive experience in business development, client management and commercial processes as well as internal governance and finance. If this is you, we would love to hear from you.

The post holder will support the Head of Transformation and their team to ensure that their work stream of programmes are planned and managed effectively and take the lead in assisting in their successful delivery:

Responsible for:

  • Leading the operational management of the Horizons team
  • Enabling the Horizons team to function with clear processes and protocols
  • Providing HR, financial, procurement and governance expertise
  • Deputising for the Senior Leadership Team as required
  • Directly managing the Business Team.

This role is office-based where the team is based, at Cheylesmore House, Coventry. The post-holder would require occasional travel to London and Leeds, and other locations within the UK.
