NHS England leads the NHS in England, setting the priorities and direction of the NHS and informing the national debate to improve health and care. We strongly believe in health and high quality care for all, now and for future generations and want everyone to have greater control of their health and wellbeing, and to be supported to live longer, healthier lives by high quality health and care services that are compassionate, inclusive and constantly-improving.

NHS England shares out more than £100 billion in funds and holds organisations to account for their spending. Our work involves the commissioning of health care services in England, and we support local health services that are led by Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs). We have devised and are delivering a strategic vision for the NHS, along with our partners in health, called the Five Year Forward View.

If the advertised role is based in London on an Agenda for Change Pay Band, it will attract a High Cost Area supplement. This supplement is not applicable to Executive or Senior Manager or Medical Leader positions. For positions offered on a part time basis, salary and any allowances will be adjusted pro rata.

We will not accept applications for this position by CV or via recruitment agencies.

Are you passionate about improving the lives of people with cancer?  Do you want to ensure more people survive cancer than ever before? Working in NHS England’s Cancer Programme, that’s exactly what you’ll do.

As a part of the NHS National Team, you will set the agenda for cancer services in England.  Working with patients, clinicians, charities and across the public sector, our aim is to reduce preventable cancers, diagnose cancer earlier, increase survival and improve the quality of life and experience for cancer patients.  We develop national policy and strategy, and work with our Cancer Alliances across the country to transform services for patients.

This is an exciting time for the NHS Cancer Programme. Our work to implement the Independent Cancer Taskforce strategy has already started to transform the experience of cancer patients across England. The publication of the Long-Term Plan for the NHS provides us with an opportunity to go even further. You will be instrumental in delivering on our ambition to diagnose three in four cancers at an early stage so that even more people survive cancer in the future.

We have a vacancy for a Lead Analyst in the Cancer Alliance Data, Evidence and Analysis Service. This role is advertised as a Fixed Term Contract till 31st March 2020, however it is expected to continue beyond this time.

The post will work as part of the NHS Cancer Programme, within the Operations and Information Directorate.

The Cancer Alliance Data, Evidence and Analysis Service (CADEAS), established during 2017/18, supports Cancer Alliances’ analytical needs enabling them to lead transformation using a whole pathway and cross-organisational approach.  Funded by the NHS Cancer Programme, CADEAS is a partnership between NHS England and Public Health England. The partnership enables the work programme to be strategically focused in line with the priorities of the Cancer Programme, and aligned with approaches and methodology of the National Cancer Registration and Analysis Service (NCRAS) in Public Health England.  It also allows access to a broad range of cancer data and analytical expertise.

The post offers excellent opportunities to shape what is still a relatively new service.  The post holders will work closely with Cancer Alliances and the Cancer Programme team to understand needs; translate needs into analytical programmes and projects to drive transformation in cancer services; and manage delivery of activities and projects.  The post holders will also work in partnership with different analysts across the system to ensure alignment of work and priorities.

We are looking for people with experience in stakeholder management and partnership working, and can demonstrate significant knowledge and experience of working innovatively with large datasets to provide quality, timely and innovative cancer analysis, intelligence and evidence.
