If the advertised role is based in London on an Agenda for Change Pay Band, it will attract a High Cost Area supplement. This supplement is not applicable to Executive or Senior Manager or Medical Leader positions. For positions offered on a part time basis, salary and any allowances will be adjusted pro rata.

This is an outstanding opportunity to have a key role in managing the biggest single commissioning budget in the NHS. The NHSE Specialised Commissioning Team in London is responsible for commissioning all the prescribed Specialised Services from almost 50 London providers, a budget of £4.3bn. Contracts range from £0.5m to £500m.
As the Senior Accountant, you will work as part of a dynamic team in delivering an effective service which supports managers and staff across the Specialised Commissioning Group. You will support and inform by the targeting of resources, monitoring results, implementation and evaluation of the Specialised Services commissioning strategies and the delivery of financial recovery/savings plans by the provision of sophisticated, high quality information and financial analysis.
You will support the Head of Finance and their team to ensure their work stream of programmes are planned and managed effectively and take the lead in assisting in their successful delivery.
The role will allow you to provide financial and information analysis across a range of specialised services, including and not limited to budget setting and monitoring, and activity and cost analysis.
You will drive change in the function, provide vision and proactively engage with external organisations.
This is a fixed term post until 31st March 2020.
