If the advertised role is based in London on an Agenda for Change Pay Band, it will attract a High Cost Area supplement. This supplement is not applicable to Executive or Senior Manager or Medical Leader positions. For positions offered on a part time basis, salary and any allowances will be adjusted pro rata.

Deputy Director: General Practice Strategy And Contracts – Fixed-Term, Maternity Cover

An opportunity has arisen to appoint to a maternity cover post in NHS England’s New Business Models and Primary Care Contracts Groups for a fixed term of 6 months, with the possibility of extending to a total of a further 6 months. As a Deputy Director, the post holder will be responsible for leading on a wide portfolio of work enabling new ways of working within primary care including:
- Working with key stakeholders to negotiate annual changes to the GP contract
- Leading and inputting into major reviews and projects associated with the GP contract including premises, QOF, funding arrangements for digital primary care providers and support to primary care networks
The post holder will work closely with other Deputy Directors in the New Business Models and Primary Care Contracts Groups and teams leading on primary care delivery across NHS England to ensure work is aligned to the overall primary care strategy.
The post holder will have significant management experience with the ability to manage other team members effectively and build relationships with a wide range of key stakeholders to deliver significant elements of policy development and implementation. The post holder will also be required to work flexibly and to take on new challenges and priorities as work evolves.
