If the advertised role is based in London on an Agenda for Change Pay Band, it will attract a High Cost Area supplement. This supplement is not applicable to Executive or Senior Manager or Medical Leader positions. For positions offered on a part time basis, salary and any allowances will be adjusted pro rata.

Contract Length: End date 31/03/2019 (with possibility to extend until 31st March 2020 depending on performance)

This post is based in the GP team within the shared Primary Care Structure and will be based in Newcastle. The post holder will work as part of a dynamic team in delivering an effective service across Cumbria and the North East to deliver the Commissioning and Contracting of GP services for the Area.

The post holder will support the Head of Department and their team to ensure that their work stream of programmes are planned and managed effectively and take the lead in assisting in their successful delivery. Key aspects of this role will be to:-
• Negotiate, monitor and review a portfolio of primary care contracts
• Lead on the commissioning of primary care contracts to meet the needs of the local area population
• To manage the development process to support any required primary care contract variations

The post holder maybe required to support projects across the wider GP portfolio.
