NHS England leads the NHS in England, setting the priorities and direction of the NHS and informing the national debate to improve health and care. We strongly believe in health and high quality care for all, now and for future generations and want everyone to have greater control of their health and wellbeing, and to be supported to live longer, healthier lives by high quality health and care services that are compassionate, inclusive and constantly-improving.

NHS England shares out more than £100 billion in funds and holds organisations to account for their spending. Our work involves the commissioning of health care services in England, and we support local health services that are led by Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs). We have devised and are delivering a strategic vision for the NHS, along with our partners in health, called the Five Year Forward View.

If the advertised role is based in London on an Agenda for Change Pay Band, it will attract a High Cost Area supplement. This supplement is not applicable to Executive or Senior Manager or Medical Leader positions. For positions offered on a part time basis, salary and any allowances will be adjusted pro rata.

We will not accept applications for this position by CV or via recruitment agencies.

Do you want to be part of a team leading local transformation in the NHS that will improve patient safety, clinical outcomes and  service delivery? If so, this is an exciting opportunity for you to join the NHS England Central Midlands Nursing and Quality Directorate on a 12 month fixed term contract/secondment.

We are responsible for developing a strategic approach to ensuring people have a positive experience of care and treatment and that people are cared for in a safe environment. We do this by providing professional and clinical leadership to the four Sustainability & Transformation Partnerships (STPs) and one Integrated Care System (ICS) in our local area offering advice, guidance and support relating to patient safety, measuring and monitoring quality, improving patient engagement and experience and the clinical effectiveness of services.  As a valued member of the team you will support the Head of Quality in a large and varying portfolio which covers local system delivery of:

  • General Practice 5 Year Forward View with a focus workforce and the General Practice Nursing 10 Point Plan
  • Primary Care clinical oversight and assurance including the direct commissioning of services
  • The National Maternity Transformation Programme (Better Births)
  • Enhanced Health in Care Homes Framework and Frailty
  • Support for reducing unwarranted variation including the utilisation of RightCare opportunities and Quality, Innovation, Productivity and Prevention (QIPP) schemes

As our Quality Lead you will facilitate the team by supporting and embedding quality improvement methodologies across this range of programmes, in order to enable STPs/ICS  to transform and improve services for local people.

If you’re passionate about improving the quality of NHS services and want to be part of a dedicated, caring and high functioning team, apply now.
